My Bestie
The fact that I am smiling with my teeth here shows how relaxed I am around her. (i dont often
smile with my teeth)
This person here is my best friend of 7 years now. I got to know her in Henry Park Primary
School, where we had (alot) some ups and downs. But
somehow, we managed to get close over time and hey! this is us now! She is one of my HHN go-to
buddies so this explains why she's in all the featured
Halloween Horror Nights posts. I really really cherish the friendship we have and its one that
I would definitely die for!
PRIME'8
For the most part in SST, the closest group of friends I've ever had were the fencers, and this group of friends is the group I still hang out with, up to this day. This picture was taken during our O Level Year, 2017, in rememberance of our CCA. This was also the time period where we stepped down from the CCA. Despite having left the CCA, and the school, we never fail to meet up at least once per holiday every year. In fact, every year during Christmas, I'd invite them over to our house to celebrate the holidays and to bring us back together to have some good food, good drinks and some good company. Love you guys !
The PRIME'8 Bois
In particular, these 3 boys I've had through 4 years of fencing were the brothers I never had. These 3 guys were elected as the EXCO for the CCA, however, I spent many of my days helping them and aiding them in their roles as EXCO. I feel that through this, we bonded quite closely. Without them, perhaps, I wouldn't be the person I am today. We have shared so many memories and stuck with each other through thick and most certainly thin.
HHN8
Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) has always been my favourite event every year. I've attended this
event since 2013, where it was only HHN3 at that time.
I went to the event this year with (left to right, top to bottom) Javier, Shueh Yuan, Oliver,
Sammi and of course my lifelong bestie. Javier is from SST
fencing and part of the PRIME8 Bois. Shueh Yuan has been tagging along with me since 2014, and
Oliver has since 2015. HHN8 was Sammi's first, after
much convincing from yours truly.
Halloween Horror Nights is an event held annually by Universal Studios Singapore. It is an
event that usually has 3 to 5 haunted houses and a couple of
scare zones. I feel that this year, the event was more aesthetic rather than scary. Most of the
houses felt more visually immersive; in that you were
really taken into the scene that was being potrayed, instead of feeling like you were at a
haunted house. However, I felt that this year, the scare factor
was somewhat lacking. My friends and I agreed that this year did not show the usual 'instilled
fear' one would usually feel when attending these sorts
of events, however, to some extent, one would still, indeed, feel scared. But a veteran like me
*cough cough* has nothing to worry about. ;)
HHN7
HHN7 was held in 2017, during my O Level Year, thus, familiar faces such as Oliver's and Shueh
Yuan's are not seen in this picture, however, my ride or die
bestie was there. My friends (from left to right) Tao, Rachel, Cheryl and John attended that
year's event. Ruixin was Cheryl's ex-schoolmate and Tao
was dating Rachel at that time. John was my Secondary 1 classmate and Cheryl's friend.
I felt that Halloween Horror Nights 7 had both, great taste and great execution. It showcased a
wide variety of haunted houses, ranging from voodoo magic to
Chinese ghosts. It even had a K-Pop themed haunted house, which was pretty hyped up then. I
really enjoyed HHN7 as a whole, in that it was great company and
the event was extremely fun to attend, with such a wonderful and dynamic group of people.
