My name is Joel and I was born in 2001, making me 17 at the time I am writing this. Since I was young,
            I've always liked to keep things simple, easy and essentially, minimalistic. Thus the design of this
            website is, in fact, rather minimal.
            As I started growing up, I felt like there were more and more things to remember, more and more memories
            that had to be remembered, and, over the course of time,
            we would eventually forget these memories we once held dearly. Thus, I have always liked jotting things
            down, be it in diary books, Instagram pages or YouTube videos;
            anything works; so long as I can look back and reminisce the feelings I felt in the past. This website has
            3 sections, 3 different aspects of the things I enjoy;
            food, lifestyle and travelling. These posts are often attached with one photo per passage since I enjoy
            taking photos as well. I take photos to capture the scene
            at which I could look back upon, decades down the road and remember what it was like to be there, in
            person, yet, in your head.

            The name of this website, ""ruhig"" is German for calm, peaceful and still, which fits the simplicity of
            this website I have created; simplistic, minimalistic and
            quiet. I feel that while scrolling through the website, especially for the Food and Travel sections, users
            can really be in my shoes, their tastesbuds would feel as if
            they were right beside my table, eating the same food I was, they would feel that they too, were alongside
            me, travelling alongside me and embracing the scene of the photograph
            taken. All these emotions can only be emoted when the focus are these pictures that I want to showcase
            because they are, indeed, the main events of my life.

            The pictures in the slideshow are essentially pictures of what my life was like the past 17 years of my life.
            Crazy outings, mad fingerguns and most importantly; around friends. Jeanette and the Fencers are people whom
            I cherish the most in life. Though we went through up and downs, we still stayed strong together. And that, I
            feel is what makes us even stronger. I'll never forget times like going to the beach, HHN, photoshoots and BBQs.
            These are moments I'll never want to forget.
